Bottled water comes in basically two types, RO / Purified Water and Spring / Mineral Water. The main difference is that Spring / Mineral Water contains life supporting minerals. RO / Purified Water contain no minerals. RO / Purified Water source is usually a well or municipal water supply that is processed by Reverse Osmosis (RO) which removes all the life supporting minerals. Water in its natural state retains minerals. If you drink purified water containing no minerals, it will leach minerals from your body, including calcium from your bones, and you will eliminate more minerals than you ingested. A steady diet of purified water is not healthy for you. The United States is one of only a few countries in the world that allows RO / Purified Water to be sold. Most countries require RO / Purified Water to be blended with a Spring Water or minerals injected before the water can be sold.
Gold Springs, Premium Spring Water, is rich in minerals. When bottled it retains 420 of its original 500 TDS, total dissolved solids which represent how many mineral are dissolved in the spring water. At 501 TDS water must be classified as mineral water. Water that is 250 to 500 TDS can be classified as either a spring water or light mineral water. Gold Springs contains the following minerals: Calcium 81 mg/l Magnesium 39 mg/l Sodium 5 mg/l Fluoride 0.2 mg/l
Health Benefits Mineralized water is needed for all cellular functions, and if there are no minerals in your drinking water, your body will rob the minerals from somewhere in your body to satisfy its needs. Calcium plays a vital part in maintaining proper health. Lack of calcium can result in high blood pressure, bone fractures, kidney stone formation, osteoporosis, colon cancer and more. Calcium can not be absorbed by the body without vitamin D or magnesium to carry it along. The ratio of calcium to magnesium for best health benefits is 2:1. The ratio of calcium to magnesium in Gold Spring Water is 2.08:1 making it nearly perfect. Water that contains less than 10 mg/l of sodium can be labeled as “Sodium Free” by FDA standards. Therefore, Gold Springs, Premium Spring Water is sodium free. Gold Springs Water is 7.4 pH. The perfect pH for human blood is 7.4 pH making Gold Springs Water the perfect water and healthiest water you can drink.
Bottling Gold Springs Water Gold Springs water is bottled to retain as much of its naturally occurring minerals as possible. As the spring water enters the bottling plant it is filtered through a 10 micron filter to remove any minerals that have not fully dissolved into the spring water. Just before bottling, the Gold Springs water in ozinated to control bacteria and then ran through a carbon filter and a 1 micron polishing filter that gives the water a brilliant sheen. The ozination of the Gold Springs water not only kills any potential bacteria, but it also oxygenates the water.
